Which is best
Hi
I've been having problems with my eratic pings whilst playing CoD:UO. It seems to be a common thing amongst game users according to the postings on here. I've been on to technical support and they have move me to a different upstream. What I would like to know is, which is the best reading between these 2..... 1st Reading Downstream channel power level ..................... -3.67 dBmV Signal to Noise Ratio.......... 35dB Upstream channel power level ..................... -42.75 dBmV 2nd Reading Downstream channel power level ..................... -0.90dBmV Signal to Noise Ratio.......... 36dB Upstream channel power level ..................... -41.25dBmV Cheers ;) |
Re: Which is best
Well after 66 views of this posting I take it no-one knows which is the best reading of the two.
Thanks anyway Chris |

Re: Which is best
2nd reading, not that either is really relevant, sounds like congestion on the upstream.
Telewest obviously still haven't gotten the hang of load balancing ;) That'll be something they learn from us when the inevitable happens :D |
Re: Which is best
Thanks Ignition...the reason why i'm asking is because, I've played about due to lagging spikes during game play.
The 1st of the 2 readings what you see above is with a FAT -3dB Attentuator on a wireless network, While the 2nd one is without the Attentuator. After taking myself of the wireless side and connecting via a normal lan cable and putting the Attentuator back on........... Downstream channel power level ..................... -1.84dBmV Signal to Noise Ratio.......... 36dB Upstream channel power level ..................... -39.50dBmV 4th Reading with the Attentuator taken back off and still on a lan cable Downstream channel power level ..................... -0.51dBmV Signal to Noise Ratio.......... 36dB Upstream channel power level ..................... -38.25dBmV I'm now presuming that if the 2nd reading was the best out of the 1st 2 then the 4th reading is better out of the 4th. Since the FAT -3dB Attentuator was fitted by an Engineer, there has been work done on the outside system quite a few times ie: blown Caps, Rewiring Etc I did have a look at different postings like http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/sh...ad.php?t=26006 aswell as others, but these were guides and didn't answer my actual question so Thanks for all your help ;) Chris |
