Disable Display of Last User Name in XP Home

Hi Guys,

I've setup a laptop so that it doesn't use the fancy "click on your name" to logon.

What I need to do now is stop XP Home from showing the user name of the last user to log on. Any ideas how I do that?

Cheers.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\System] "DontDisplayLastUserName"=dword:00000001

I haven't tested it yet, but it should do the job.

I'm assuming that you're happy editing the registry.

If you don't want to use Regedit, go into 'Local Security Settings app (under Admin Tools)

Under 'Local Policies', 'Security Options' you can set 'Interactive Logon: Don't display last user name'

Note - I have Pr, but afaik Local Security Settings is avail on Home.
