FREE caller display with BT

BT are offering caller display free to residential customers who make some calls with them (i.e. not you guys with CPS).

The number to call is 0800 916 5544

For more information see Martin's site here

This offer is also available to those who already subscribe and pay for caller display.

Nice find Shaun! We use BT for all our calls, as our monthly bill is so low it's not worth the hassle of changing. I'll be activating this when I get home. Our handset has caller display built in but we've never used it before.

Hmmm ... didn't need to call from the line that is to benefit - I just did it from my work phone. :) Caller Display should be active within 24 hours. I also registered for the Telephone Preference Service, which is part of this new BT Privacy at Home service, although I think we already were ...

I wonder if NTL will respond to this?

NTL can't get Caller Display to work across it's entire network so putting an offer out like that would be annoying to say the least. So watch the front page for news on NTL putting a free caller ID offer out :dozey:

We have got caller display and at about £4 a month/quarter what ever it is we signed up for the free one, took 3minutes 29 seconds of some woman going on and on.

it's a right royal rip off. I have already cancelled my BT line and look forward at the end of the month to moving to vonage/VOIP where for £10 a month ALL my landline calls will be FREE all of the day and caller display will be FREE and voicemail FREE and no more lining the pockets of BT!

 Free caller display is a rip-off?

I can see your point if you mean BT's call charges, but there's no need to use them for calls. :D 18866 are a great company for calls, at 2p connection and no per minute charge I cant see the advantage of VOIP. New router, no phone if the power goes. :(

no, it's a royal rip off when I'm paying around £15 a month for a BT line with caller display when I make virtually no calls on it.

I haven't got my latest Bill but I think I pay £10.50 for the BT line rental. Then I (think) have a calling features 'pack' for either £1.75 or £3.50 a month which brings it to £14 a month then on top of that I have about £1 a month in call charges.

Caller Display was active on our line by the time I got home last night. Very useful - although if I call home from the office it says 'witheld' so Mrs T can't use it for screening out probable nuisance calls during the day.

Put 1470 in front of it when you phone home Chris, it will release your number.

That doesn't work on most company switchboards and could prevent a call from being made.
