Unable to view specific site
On sunday I was unable to access my own website. (I'm not posting the URL as it might look like I am spamming). I tried everything I could, I could access all other sites ok, I was even able to access someone else's website that I happen to know is on the same server as mine! Numerous reports to the hosts failed to resolve it as they said they could get in ok.
Then I changed my ntl proxy to a manually specified one, and the site appeared. I felt a bit of a charlie and put it down to a fluke. However, yesterday, the same thing happened again, I was able to access any website except my own. This was with the same manual proxy specified. So I changed it again, and the problem was fixed. Tonight it's happened twice more, and I've had to change proxies twice more. On each occasion, if I revert to one of the previously-used proxies, the problem is still there. This defies all logic...how can only one site be affected like this? And sooner or later I am going to run out of proxies. Does anyone have the foggiest idea what might be going on? I'm 2mb SACM Bromley by the way. |
Re: Unable to view specific site
Oh the joy of the Proxies :)
Its not just one site - this happens all the time with many sites including betanews/ebuyer/msn groups and many many more.. Sadly its a daily occurance for some of us to keep rotating proxies just to get sites to display :( |
Re: Unable to view specific site
Yep sounds like a proxy problem.
Try a different proxy. There is a list avialable HERE |
Re: Unable to view specific site
Have you changed anything on the site ? (i.e. added something that might upset the cache servers).

Re: Unable to view specific site
It sounds rather like someone on the remote network is playing whack-a-mole and blocking each new proxy as you use it for some reason.
