How to check download amount??
 

I recently installed the 1M broadband with £9.99 per month. I was told 3G is the monthly doanload limit. But how can I check my download amount for each day or month? And if I exceed the 3G limit, what is the fee upon this? Are there any upload limit at all? Many thanks.

hi and :welcome: to the site , there are no strict download limits , yet , only a guideline of 1gb / day , as for the bandwidth used , you would need a bandwidth monitor , loads to choose from if you google for it , hope you enjoy your stay here btw :)

Many thanks for your prompt answer man! Actually, I didn't get the doanload limit item on the contract but was told when I called NTL people. So it is common to just ignore the so called 'limit' right?

if my maths is right , you could reach 1gb in about 12 hours , you may get contacted if you go over this regularly , you may not , i think at the moment it depends if you impact on the service of others near you :erm:

Urm....

the 1meg service has a 3gig per month cap- not the 1gig per day that is on the 2 and 3 meg services.

At the moment the cap is not being enforced, but it will be at some point, and i am sure details will be announced before this takes place about what action will be taken against people who download too much.

that is why i said it is subject to a potential 1 gb /day cap as the other services are :angel:

but it isn't....

the t&cs say that the cap is 3gb a month... whether this is enforced today, tomorrow, or next year is irrelevant- because the contract states that it has a 3gb a month cap... and this is what the OP has agreed to.

until it is implemented i was under the impression it was 1gb/day :shrug:
