Windows 2003 Server

What's that security gubbins all about when you open IE on a Windows 2003 server? I can disable all the security in IE and I still cannot browse to the internal webserver in a JetDirect. Be damned if I know where the settings are hidden to turn it off :(

Give me a minute and I'll boot up the server and tell you :)

Why would you want to browse on a server?
Besides, turning all those settings off might compromise the box.

Adding the JetDirect IP to the list of trusted sites in IE worked for me..

Usually because something's broke and the admin is trying to fix it :erm:

Thankyou :)

Many HP printers don't work too well on a HP JetDirect :erm: I guess within HP the two departments are separate. Perhaps with snipers and water between them and nothing but smoke signals to communicate design intentions. JetDirects also have a habit of deciding that a printer is a Centronics printer. They're a real nuisance.

Ta for the info!

Do you have any manual proxies set?

No proxies set. It's the security thing that does it - can't distinguish between internal and external sites.
