ftp web site space
 

Hi just wanted to know if there is anywhere i can put my web site on for free .
i upload to ntl FTP space at the moment but if i cancel my subscription i will loose the space ..i need about 40meg of ftp space ,,anyone;)

if not a free one then a very cheap one as i'm skint :D

oops i just read a post below that says that this forum will do web hosting ..

i dont know much about such things so bear with me ..do i just get an ftp upload addy to put my web site on if i sign up for this one ,,:)

a co.uk domain & basic hosting with 100MB of space would cost about £15 a year - cheap enough?

- much better than a free site, in my opinion :)

allready got a domain name and web site just need somewhere to dump it as it were:)

so if i get the cable forum web hosting do i get an FTP address to load to .:)

Ummmmm

Cable Forum don't do web hosting, you might be getting confused with I-web solutions, who provide the hosting for the forum and also for a number of the members here.

They do special deals for CF members, I'm sure someone will post the link soon.

You will get web space as specified in the package details, you can use FTP to upload your files to that space.

forgive my ignorance,but that is all i know about web uploads as that is what i had on ntl ,,:)

the 'address' you refer to is the domain name - along the lines of 'sheridan.co.uk', you won't be able to use the 'homepage.ntlworld.com' address any more, and will need to purchase one. The link in Mr_love_monkeys sig is a good indicator of pricing - the .info option is cheap as chips, especially.
