Re: Decent ADSL Modems
I've just bought the Linksys ADSL2 Modem With Usb/ethernet
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=82551 Reviewed http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=82551 Does what it says on the tin and once pass thru is on so all it is is an ADSL modem then Linksys Etherfast Cable/DSL Router - IP Router 8port 10/100 will be dealing with the rest of it. Don't have ADSL installed until Thursday and at the moment have bits of cat 5 cable dangling out of walls, not punched into patch panels and wall sockets so cannot comment on how well it works, but if it works half as well as the WRT54G I have on my NTL connection I will be happy. |
Re: Decent ADSL Modems
Looks interesting..,,,
Thanks |
Re: Decent ADSL Modems
I dont know about specific modem's but I'd go for ones that can tell you the signal levels etc.
My Belkin cannot & I'd rather it did, can be useful (as you'd know). |
Re: Decent ADSL Modems
Well the Linksys ADSL2, works a charm and will be soft upgradable to ADSL2+ (25Mbs?)
Top tip - if you are using it with a linksys (or possibly other routers) then you set it to "bridge mode" and thats it. Then you put you ADSL dial up settings into the Linksys router and aways you go. There I have just saved you 2hrs of your life and the need to read the instructions. |
