I feel the poor woman needs as much help as she can get. Although it is hard to understand how she could have done such a thing, imagine the guilt she must feel in her more lucid moments. I am not condoning her behaviour but just trying to understand her a little.Thoughas the previous poster stated, that poor baby.

imo there is only one response to that............she should do the decent thing.

Its awful how she was every allowed to have the baby without any kind of supervision. Considering she had a long history of mental problems, which didn't appear to have been resolved when the kid was born, the authorities let it happen. She should have been closely monitored, and if anything happen which would lead people to think she'd harm the baby, then that baby should have been brought into care.

IMO Anyone that had any dealing with this would have been traumatised.

There is not a real lot that you can say/discuss about it.

Just for once I am completely shocked. Can't think of anything to say tho.

Anyone who does this must be really ill or evil - I guess. But that's just an opinion as I couldn't imagine doing it.

IF this person is ill they they need all the help and support that they can get.

IF this person knew what they were doing then they need to be put away for a LONG time.

BUT - I think the full facts need to come out before any kind of decision can be made.

I have mixed emotions, somewhere between bewildered, pity and almost pure hate.

Green had suffered from a schizo-affective disorder which caused her to hear voices and become depressed since 1985, the court heard. She could also suffer outbursts of violence and had been admitted to hospital on seven previous occasions.

....
This point is my worry, how and why would someone like this be left on her own with a baby
This country is nuts,a friend of mines baby hurt his arms the SS got involved and the stigma was amazing and in the end it was proven an accident,The child was taked into the care of his grandmother. Then you read this and im sorry but im astounded the child was left there

Some situations need not be commented about.

It might be better to put some money in a tin box somewhere into research being done about postnatal depression. It's a very wide spread condition.

With Postnatal Depression on top...

And no amount of comment or handwringing will change the outcome. So I think I will see IF there is any organisation that I can give some money to that investigates such cases, plus something to the NSPCC.
