NTL TV Guide - what does AD mean?
I'm asking on behalf of my sweetheart...
On the NTL TV Guide, after the blurb about the programme, there are sometimes some letters in brackets. S refers to subtitles, but what does AD mean? |
Re: NTL TV Guide - what does AD mean?
Audio Description?
Thats the only thing that springs to mind immediately. |
Re: NTL TV Guide - what does AD mean?
I'm pretty sure dezzo is right. It's a voice over description of the action for blind/ partially sighted "viewers".

Re: NTL TV Guide - what does AD mean?
Could it mean ADULT ?
|
Re: NTL TV Guide - what does AD mean?
Nah, audio description sounds right. AFAIS, its not even available anyway, yet.

I don't think so it was in the description for Emmerdale lol |
Re: NTL TV Guide - what does AD mean?
AD could also mean Adult Discretion, if it is after an adult type programme

Re: NTL TV Guide - what does AD mean?
If you look at the programme synopsis on Digiguide it gives all the features in full and AD is Audio Description as Dezzo said. http://www.tvhelp.org.uk/audes/whatis.html tells you a little more.
If you don't use Digiguide you are missing out on the best listing service there is. |

Thanks Ian, and those of you who contributed your suggestions.
I rarely watch the telly here. Our son does most of the TV watching - crud like the Disney channel and cartoons  - and Julie loves her Emmerdale, Corrie and her docusoaps. Me? I surf the net and play PC games. :D |
