NTL email after leaving NTL?
I've had internet access from NTL for over five years now but will soon move to ADSL (for work reasons) - does anyone know what will happen to my ntlworld email addresses after I cancel NTL broadband? Is it possible to keep the same email addresses and use a dial up account or to transfer them to another NTL user who could monitor them for me?
Thanks in advance for any help. |
Re: NTL email after leaving NTL?
You might be able to take up an NTL dial up account and ask for the email account to be transfered, as far as I know the email account gets stopped when you end your account with NTL BB.

Re: NTL email after leaving NTL?
Hi Paul, thanks for the quick reply - when I spoke to NTL support they seemed to think that email addresses couldn't be re-used by a different user and didn't suggest transferring them to a dialup account. I got the feeling that this hasn't come up before and they were guessing so I thought I'd ask the forum...

Re: NTL email after leaving NTL?
I know you can transfer a dial up email address to a BB account, not sure about the other way round but one of out helpful NTL people might be able to clarify it for you.

Re: NTL email after leaving NTL?
I don't know whether the e-mail account gets deleted straight away/after a period, but, if not, you shoulld still be able to receive e-mail via ntl's pop address from another ISP. You jus won't be able to send via NTL's SMTP servers.

Re: NTL email after leaving NTL?
Thanks guys.
I've give NTL support another call tomorrow - if the worst comes to the worst I can always sacrifice one of my lesser used email addresses as a test but it's the primrary address that I need most. Here's hoping... |
Re: NTL email after leaving NTL?
You can transfer email addresses between any two live accounts, but it becomes difficult if the account has been closed.
