Weather brings ntl down?
Ok, slightly peeved but it's back up now...
But... About 11:00 AM today, there's a thunderclap. Both my broadband and TV die (they're both from the cable). What I'd like to know is, how on earth could a storm affect underground cabling? Perhaps I'm ignorant but I really don't understand. Could someone send some enlightenment my way? Thanks! :) |

Maybe a street cab got struck.

It did hit a cab, in the Bromley franchise ;)

Re: Weather brings ntl down?
Once knew a guy on the Guildford cablemodem trial. Lightning struck the cable where it entered the house and fried the modem.

Re: Weather brings ntl down?
Another reason it would happen would be if it caused a powerspike that tripped the fuse in a box...
