telewest broadband - sweex wireless - please help!!
please can anyone help me, this is driving me mad.
I am trying to connect up a Sweex wireless router to my telewest broadband at home. I have a wireless connection at work that is set up and works fine but i just cant get the home one to work (the wireless card is 802.11g and compatible with the router) Ive printed off the 87 page booklet and spent 5 1/2 hrs last night and cant get a damm broadband connection. There is so much in the instruction booklet i'm not sure what is relevant to me. Can anyone suggest or advise some simple instructions to set it up The computer does see the router however. and if i type in the ip address 192.168.123.254 i get to the sweex set up page When i then go internet explorer i just get message page cant be found. If anyone can help i'd be really grateful - its just probably something simple i'm not doing. thankyou sjhoughton |
Re: telewest broadband - sweex wireless - please help!!
1) Do you have a model no. for the router, so we can 'google'?
2) Is it just a router, not an ADSL modem/router? (Does it have a WAN port with similar (RJ45) connector to the LAN ports?) |

I know this is like, over a year after the thread, but this page popped up when i was having problems with my sweex wireless access point (lc000070) to enable the router for cable modems: >logon to browser management page (192.168.123.254 - or whatever you have changed it to - mine is 192.168.1.1) >Click 'Basic' from the left hand menu. >the click 'Wireless' >@ bottom of the page is 'WDS settings' - click this >change 'Wireless Bridging' to 'enable' This s sorted out the problem with the status page saying WAN is Unreachable. Hope this is easy enough. :) Mash:dunce: |
