Re: saving word documents

You probably can't :(

There is some software that you can get that recovers previously deleted files from your HDD but this is by no means a gaurentee that you will be able to recover the ones that you want.

If any other file has been written over the space on the disk that they occupied then they will be unrecoverable.....sorry.....

:welcome: to Cable Forum though :tu:

You need an un-eraser but the more you use your PC the less likely you are to recover it.

Try O+O Disk recovery from www.oosoftware.com
It's a trial but the usual things are available (ie paying for it, or just using the trial for a bit)...

With these preliminaries done, next month we ll look specifically how to recover files, and how to work with UNDELETE directly from the command line.
Next Month.....

If the documents were recent they "might" still be in word. Check at the bottom of the file drop down menu.;)

It might already have been overwritten already in which case it is gone, if not then you can try to find an Undelete type of program.
Don't know what version of Word you are running but I find the "Always make a backup copy" kind of setting in Office XP to be useful ;)
