Keep Losing Internet Connection

Hope someone can help.

We are connected via a set top box which runs through a router and we have three computers connected to the router.

Two computers using the router have no problems with the internet connection, however the third computer keeps losing internet connection. We then have to restart the computer for the internet connection to resume.

We have replaced the network pci card yesterday, thinking that was the problem and we have also changed the ethernet lead thinking maybe that was faulty. However we are still experiencing lose of connection. Any ideas????

We have run full virus scans on the PC and have also used adaware.

Help needed before my husband stamps all over his pc.

Think this would be better off in the Computers and IT area as it's nothing to do with NTL equipment if the other two computers are fine on the connection. Have you checked the settings on the non connecting PC with one of the others to make sure everything is the same? Also is the problem PC running a firewall at all?

Sounds to me like a faulty router/switch but im sure someone will come and stub that idea out.

Have you tried the PC in a different port on the router?

What is your husband doing at the time he loses his connection? Is he uploading large files / sharing files across the internet/network?

When you lose access can he still access other PCs on the network or does everything die?
