just bought a dvd writer....what to remove?
Hiya, I have just bought a DVD writer for my comp. I have at the moment a cd writer and a DVD drive installed. Seeing as how I dont play DVDs on my comp do you think that I should just take out the two drives and just have a combination?
What do people ordinarilly do? |
Re: just bought a dvd writer....what to remove?
I kept my CD writer and replaced my DVD drive with a DVD burner - mainly because the CD writer reads scratched CD's better than my DVD writer, but also it seems slightly more reliable at writing CD's too.

I'd take out the two old drives and just use the DVD writer...
Unless you're gonna do a lot of disc copying. |

Unless you need two writers, take out the old cd writer - then you will have one dvd and cd writer, and two drives which can read both dvd's and cd's.

How about turning one of the internal hard drives into an external?
This sort of thing |

Or install a cheap raid card http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=48670 . I use 3 optical drives in my system as each has its own best use
Pioneer 108 wicked dvd rewriter lite on cdr will copy everything in reason(back ups of course). will also read cd's that state not playable on pc or mac lite on dvd rom software switch to make multi region so no dodgy firmware |
