Strange TFT resolution problems
I have a pretty old Mitac 17" LCD.
It has always been fine until I bought my new system. At first, everything was fine with my new system but then I started getting problems. Now, when it boots, I get "OUT OF TIMING" straight away. If I press del to get to bios, I can see the bios but it doesn't fill the screen properly. I can then see the table type thing on boot up but then cannot see the Windows XP boot sequence. The welcome screen shows up fine. Everything is fine in Windows itself. I have tried pressing the auto button but it doesn't overcome the problem. I cannot test if it's a graphics card specific problem as I'm on PCI-E now and my old rig is in bits. Any ideas? Perhaps a bios upgrade? Cheers for any help. |
Re: Strange TFT resolution problems
Sill question
Have you installed the correct XP drivers? If XP drivers aren't available you can use Windows 2000 drivers instead |
Re: Strange TFT resolution problems
XP drivers won't affect non XP stuff like BIOS though.

Re: Strange TFT resolution problems
I can see the BIOS so I suppose I can live with it.

Re: Strange TFT resolution problems
Sounds like the graphics card default timing is way out. You could try forcing the refresh rate to 60Hz but I doubt it will change the default settings of the card.
control panel / display / settings / advanced / adaptor / refresh rate |
Re: Strange TFT resolution problems
It is already at 60hz.
