No TV :(
 

Hi all, my first post here and really the first time I have ever needed help with NTL!

Last night I got in from work and my NTL box was switched off? I switched it on and all I get on the screen is "Initialising: This channel is temporarily unavailable." and the settop box is stuck on channel 9, I cannot turn the channel over and there is a purple box in the bottom right that says "Starting....."

My broadband still works and now seems to be faster?

I called NTL phone support and they told me I had to wait until Monday for an engineer :Yikes:

Anyone got any ideas? I have the chrome samsung set top box. I have tried powering the box off, removing the card and powering back up again already!

Please help... My kids won't go for two days without tv lol :erm:

Unplug mains power, Plug it back in and leave it for a hour while plugged in. It should time out and give you a error code, or it could just start up normally, only time will tell:rolleyes:

Sorry to say that if simpsonsFAN's suggestion doesn't work you will probably need to give CS a call. I think there may be someone there today (perhaps one of our resident CS bod's could confirm that?).

For any problems folk need to ring Faults not Customer Services and anyway the call seems to have made as there is an engineer going out on Monday.

It is possible that the pics may come back on of their own accord, does sometimes happen :erm:

all back up and working again.. ntl man came round and installed a new box...

I have all my channels back again :D
