Freezing picture
Hello
I have a PACE set top box and have noticed over the last couple of weeks that about once an hour my picture freezes for a split second, it really is a very quick freeze and only about once an hour......any ideas if this would be problem in my area or the box? Thanks |
Re: Frrezing picture
hello hornet, it's highly unlikely it is a problem in your area as it has been going on for so long, you need to give faults a call so they can run some checks, just make sure you don't have a DECT phone very close to the stb also make sure the stb is well ventilated.

Re: Frrezing picture
Still haven't got round to calling NTL, but this problem is still going no loss of sound the picture just freezes for a split second and its only about once every 2 hours of viewing...do you reckon I need a new box? No other problems with it though.
Cheers |
Re: Frrezing picture
its upto you , it cant be bothering you that much if you cant be bothered to ring ntl can it :erm: , is it well ventilated , is the card scorched , are all the connections , especially the coax incoming cable tight , just a few things to have a look at :)

Re: Frrezing picture
it's unlikely the stb will need to be swapped, provided you have checked what i and paul suggested call faults if it is bothing you, as i mentioned it is more than likely that the signal levels are a bit out and a tech call out can adjust them for you.

Re: Frrezing picture
Hornet uk , i live near you in Hemel Hempstead , and i have been getting same problem passed few days , but at times i loose all picture and sound for around 5 seconds. then alls well.
I will give ntl a call on tuesday if it continues. I have noticed my picture sometimes freezes when my heating boiler starts up . |
