help program remote please please please
 

hi i have a samsung STB the original remote that i had got soaked in beer and stopped working about 1 month ago and the girlfriend threw it out in the trash!

so i was walking around the local car boot sale and there was a bloke there with about 50 different types of these remotes in a box, so i asked him hows he got so many and if they all work on the samsung STB he said he used to work for ntl and that this grey remote would 100% work with the samsung STB, i brought a new remote from him its the grey shark kind and when i got home i tried it on the STB but it wont work? the remote itself seems to work fine the light flashes when pressed ? do i need to program this to my STB ? the original remote was a blue none programable kind? :confused:

Yep, that's right....sorry. There are loads on ebay at the moment going really cheap though!

take note of the warning in the article about the blue model remote model that can't be programmed to work the tv. :)

Just saw that article.........I have a blue shark remote that does work with my telly :)

That's correct the blue remotes go with the samsungs stb's, the OP has a grey remote which does not, both the grey and blue remotes can be programmed to work with your television
