Broadband Upload Speeds

Hello Everyone,

First of all thanks for this site, lots of really useful information. Few quick questions when I use various online tests and configuring applications it asks for download and upload speed. I know my download which is 750k as this is the one I pay for and have checked using various checkers, but just wondered if any one knows what the upload speed is for 750k ntl broadband or/and an online checker for this, as I hear the upload speed can vary vastly between ISPââ‚Âà ‚¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢s.

Also does any one know if the new speed upgrades have been brought in, in Bournemouth, Dorset? Also relating to last point what is the upload speed meant to be for the new 1MB and 2MB.

Thank You Every One & Keep This Great Site Going.

And.....

If you give Customer service a call they should be able to upgrade you to the 1Mb service (I think).

Be aware that they are monitoring the usage on this service so there is a theoretical Cap.

There's another thread discussing speeds/caps though so you should be able to find any other information that you need in there.

750k goes up to 2mb on the upgrade, the 300k goes up to 1mb.

hi Jamie

the only upstream speed test I have seen is Dan Elwells, but it is only enabled in the registered version.

http://www.broadbandspeedtest.net/

if you want to have a look - I have no connection, other than I use it myself.

IIRC the upstream for 750Kb/s should be 128Kb/s.

:)

apologies for pedantry, this is bad even by my standards, but the download is 1024k, 2048k, 3072k :Sprint:
