DVD Shrink and Ram discs
Hi all
I have just brought a pioneer 109D which 'should' reads DVD-ram disc. Most systems like explorer do not seem to reconize the disc although it plays in Ulead DVD player. I brought it to copy DVD ram programmes to DVD-r discs. Any idea if DVD shrink will work with ram discs because when I try and open the disc it just states no disc. Any ideas on the best way forward. Many thanks Mike |
Re: DVD Shrink and Ram discs
It could be the disk, Mike, the specs say it will read
DVD-RAM (Non-cartridge DVD-RAM Version 2.0/2.1 only) other than that, the only thing I can suggest is to ensure you have the latest firmware for the drive... |

Re: DVD Shrink and Ram discs
you could try nero copydisc or clonedvd<what format is written to the dvd ram? shrink only recognises vts and vob files

Re: DVD Shrink and Ram discs
If you have nero on your pc give that a go select copy disc with pioneer as source and destination see what happens

Re: DVD Shrink and Ram discs
Sounds like an issue with the compatability of your DVD drive. I use a Panasonic DMR E55, use Panasonic RAM discs and have a Mats(hit)a (Panasonic) DVD RAM drive. The discs read fine in Windows Explorer.
One thing I have found however is that the PC doesn't like discs on which video has been recorded, and deleted and messed about with by the DMR E55. It only works properly when a disc has been formatted in the DVD recorder (under functions) and only recorded on once. You might like to try that. |
