Upgrading my PC
Hi Everybody
I am thinking of upgrading my machine so that it can better handle games. I currently have an Nvvidia GeForce FX5200-256MB RAM My power supply is 350W 1 have 1GB DDR Ram (pc2700) and a P4 3.2 Ghz HT I feel some of the games HL2 and Doom 3, graphics are a bit jaded, do not seem to get the full effects and when i increase them in the game, it seems to run slow. can any one suggest how I can upgrade my PC so that all the games I play can be run at full texture and details. |

Re: Upgrading my PC
Yep, what budget are you working to? If it's £100 then I'd suggest a Radeon 9800 Pro, if you can go further then you could get, as zinglebarb says, an x800.
PY's right, as well... you might want to consider upgrading your PSU to make sure everything gets enough juice when it needs it. |
Re: Upgrading my PC
Hi folks
Thanks for the suggestions so far, I am hoping to work around the £200-£300 mark. if i put in a larger power supply, will that not sound louder also, or is it just a misconception on my part. __________________ By the way, i am learning a lot of information Ramrod and his PC building skills |
