Notice to quit TV

Hello

How much notice do I have to give NTL I want rid of their TV service? Do they than come & take the box and disconnect wires outside the house?

I presume I can stay on their Broadband service?

Only ask as tempted to get Sky+, any disadvantages to Sky besides a dish on house?

Cheers

Provided you have served out your 12 month minimum contract, notice period will be 30 days. Can be done over the phone, but back it up in writing so you have a record if ntl still try to keep billing you. (if you speak to a CS bod, make sure you record their name).

ntl won't remove wires. They will probably want your STB back - they might collect eventually, or technically the Ts&Cs, last time I checked reuire you to return the STB to them.

If you get broadband via STB, you may well keep the STB for now.

Is it very likely NTL will mess up the 30 day end date? As I pay by DD due to BB, therefore can't cancel DD. I can't afford to keep paying NTL once Sky subscription starts.

Hornet, you have already set up a separate thread here to discuss the advantages of Sky ... could you please try to keep this thread on the topic of how to get your NTL services disconnected.

Sorry to sound so harsh, but if you insist on having two threads with broadly the same topic, it's all going to end in some very messy thread merging.

:)
