Poxy servers, sorry proxy servers
I'm on 3mb through SACM 120 Home
Is there any way I can make NTL take me off a proxy server? It ****es me off that I cant access certain sites... If you think about it, I pay 37.99 per month for a service which now caps me and i dont have a static ip so lets face it i could do better but if i could get off a proxy server then i would stay with ntl or is it time to go? ta bubby:) |

Re: Poxy servers, sorry proxy servers
I'm having some of these problems with certain sites (the yahoo mail site has some probs because of proxies).
Can anyone tell me how to tell the lazy programmers on these sites what they need to do ? A reference to a help site would ... well help :-) The best option would be "Stick these 3 lines of code in the site header" or something along those lines. Tried looking for this info, but without a background in HTML it all seems a bit Greek to me (or Spanish or any other language I dont understand) If the answer needs a 4 hour lesson then I dont expect anyone to take the time, but if it is easy it could help. Thanks Steve |
Re: Poxy servers, sorry proxy servers
They need to check for the X_FORWARDED_FOR http variable, which all ntl proxies use to pass on the client ip.

Thanks Paul, but it is the not refreshing the caches that is the particular problem I think. Got a one liner for that ? ;)
