Partition recovery
I have deleted a partition on a hard drive, unfortunately it has some data on it I forgot was there.
Does anyone know of a free Partiton recovery tool I can use to attempt a restore? |
Re: Partition recovery
Yes, download youself a copy of Ultimate Boot CD and boot from that, has tools that will search for deleted partitions and restore the partition table. Have you done anything to the drive since?

There is data there, but all the tools I can find only allow you to view, or move 500K of data, not much good when there 100Mb of piccies of my little boy in there somehwere. |
Re: Partition recovery
There are alot of good recovery packages available and most will allow you to recover from deleted files, a formatted disk and a deleted partition. Here's a few links:

problem. The software provides very useful functions: Backup partition table, Restore partition table, Rebuild partition table, undelete partition, Fix boot sector, rebuild mbr, etc. First thing I recommend you download the demo version of Partition Table Doctor.( http://www.ptdd.com/download.htm ) Run the program and select "Rebuild Partition Table", then choose "Interactive" mode. If you can find the partition you need, that is Partition Table Doctor can help you. Otherwise, Partition Table Doctor cannot help you.
