hmm ye normal style ethernet requires amps at least every 100m or so. If they can manage to get cabs close enough to users it might be feasable, but then that would be 1 per street or more. or at least ampifiers.
Still even if they do get it working we wont see it for another 5 years + because bt dont want todo it and cable co's cant afford todo it. when will they realise that we're not such an island anymore we do know whats going on in the rest of the world so selling us stuff that 'new' and 'state of the art' even though its quite blatently not wont work anymore *grr* Fibre will work it just needs effort and government backing. The uk network needs to be unified and updated, we need 1 fast system that would put the scandanvians to shame ! K |

Followed by several other words like,NHS funding, education funding,Defence budget, transport, benifits system. All these are underfunded so finding the money,so we can get a faster connection to the internet is never going to be the top priority for any government. Incog:) |

i will say that MORE money is NOT needed in all areas of the NHS its efficency and streamlining get the over payed underworked managers SACKED who dont know where to distribute funds efficently as there are too many of them (note not all of them) get the red tape out of there too investment is a good thing for any public service such as the NHS however you CANNOT CONTINUE TO THROW MONEY AT IT unless you have good admin and good core funding of local NHS establishments providing excellent facilitates short wait times etc |

WOuld the current equipment in the holmes of NTL's users be able to cope with this?
I doubt it, so it needs more than just more amps in the cables. Anyway, what do we need with speedy connections? They only mean we would be downloading more rubbish & filling our HDD's quicker, watching streaming media/films, etc. HOw long would our download limit last? a few minutes? And we just would not know what to do with an Xbox game with a full list of players in...lol |
