Lost all my Pay channels.
It'd appear i've now lost all my channels apart from 1,2,3,4,5. The thing is, i haven't used my box in over 6 months, it's been sitting there unplugged, but has still been payed for.
No idea what to do.. Heres some (possibly) usefull screenshots of the info/events log, no idea what any of it means though. http://www.svgonline.co.uk/003.jpg http://www.svgonline.co.uk/002.jpg http://www.svgonline.co.uk/001.jpg http://www.svgonline.co.uk/004.jpg Thanks |
Re: Lost all my Pay channels.
hi and :welcome: to the site , i suspect it could be due to the fact that it has been unplugged for so long , might be wrong though :erm: :D :D

Re: Lost all my Pay channels.
Hi there,
If you switch the STB off at the mains, remove the smartcard from behind the panel on the left front hand side of the Set top box and wipe the gold chip on the underside of the card with your finger, then re-insert the card in the Bottom slot if you have 2 on the STB, before switching the mains power back on then you should have your channels back. Let us know how that goes. |
Re: Lost all my Pay channels.
Call faults the stb just needs to be rehit because its been offline for so long the channels should come back more or less straight the way. HTH

Re: Lost all my Pay channels.
Sorry misread and didnt notice it had been unplugged for so long, in that case switch it off at the mains, remove the card, wipe the card, switch the STB back on at the mains, then re-insert the cards when the message about the card being removed displays, this can sometimes bring the channels back, other than that it will need to be rehit or even have a tech out to change the default frequency/swap the stb in extreme cases

Re: Lost all my Pay channels.
Okay thanks for all your help, really appreciate you guys responding so quickly. :)
I've tried everything you've said, so it looks as if i'm going to have to go with the ringing up and getting it "re-hit". What exactly does this involve? Thanks again. :) |
Re: Lost all my Pay channels.
Andi, All it involves is the advisor rehiting the stb or resending the signals to the stb they will then askyou to reboot the stb and remove the card as Gooner said, once you restore the power to the stb your channels should be back, the whole process takes about 3 mins.
