Credit where its due.

:tu: I just wanted to say i have had the most pleasant experience ever with NTL CS i recently had a problem with my billing. Some of it my fault some of it NTL's. I have just received a phone call from NTL credit control and after explaining the problems and how it all came about it has been sorted out with minimum fuss and absolute 110% efficiency and politeness. So just wanted to say a huge thank you to the gentleman concerned, sorry i never caught your name but whoever you are you are a credit to NTL. :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

Whilst NTL are no angels they do get it right allot of the times. I do believe quite a few people on hear just like to whinge and join in because everyone else is complaining.

So yeah, a round of applause (on this occasion!) :clap:

I've got to say that at last, at long last, problems I've been having also appear to have been sorted.

We apparently now agree that I don't have the TV service, and the correct credits are allocated, as far as I can see.

If it gets to the stage where the next three billing periods also contain the correct ammendments, then I can stand up, clap hands, and shout thank you ..

Here's hoping I'm not speaking to soon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I'm more than happy to add my comment to this;
called CS about a week and a half ago to arrange the swop out of my Pace STB for a Samsung and it was arranged for this morning. I was a bit concerned when 11:30 came and no-one had been so called CS just to check and they assured me that everything was arranged and the engineer was on his way.

Fifteen minutes later the guy arrives with a brand new Samsung box which is all installed and running within ten minutes. Re-register my router with the new box and I'm on-line AND check my speed and I'm already on 2Meg. No need to call CS and sweet-talk them into upgrading me it all just happened-as the installer said it would.

So here I am one happy customer, a new Samsung STB and speed upgrade all on the same day as promised. In all I've spoken to three different CS reps all of whom were completely professional and helpful and have done exactly what they said they would.

Now my experience may be atypical but overall I suspect NTL probably get in right more often than not-it's just that these rarely get reported.

Cue Neil with "why should NTL get praise just for doing things right?"

But I've just rung them to upgrade to 2Meg, phone answered after two rings, call dealt with smoothly and efficiently, and 2 minutes later I'm downloading at super fast speeds.

When it all works as it should, it's very impressive!

When we got our connection changed to 2Mb, we didnt have connection for 6hrs (we gave it a bit to see if it came on after a short while and we had rebooted the STB ;)).

Called back, the 2nd guy said he had no idea what went wrong with the change-over as the original guy had done it right. He reapplied the settings (so he said :p) and its worked fine since.

Tristan mentions Neil saying why should NTL get praise for doing things right... he has a point because afterall, we pay them (sometimes a lot of money) to get it right. However, I dont think its fair to slate someone when they balls up but not praise them for doing it right. Makes people look pretty negative if they only comment on the bad side IMHO.
