'Program information Unavailable'

Im sorry if this has been discussed before, but nearly 50% of the time when i look at 'at a glance' 99% of the channels just say 'program information unavailable' - does anyone know why this happens or how i can solve it?

:welcome: to Cable Forum :D

Unfortunately this is an issue with ntl's network. the EPG (Electronic Program Guide) is notoriously slow at downloading, and frequently gets out of syncronisation. Sometimes it will catch up eventually, if you wait long enough. Other times you might even find a reboot is needed, (which may or may not work) especially when the EPG swears blind its say 6:00 pm and yet it isn in fact 9:00pm. It's one of the most useless aspects on ntl's digi TV service.

The STB type, Samsung or PACE seems to make little difference, altough some say the Samsung loads a tad quicker.

Hi fadeout,

:welcome: to CF.

As MGP says, this is a "known issue" sorry :(

Stick around in the forums though, there's loads of good information floating around in here and a fresh face is always welcome.

Sit back, kick off your shoes, relax, and enjoy your stay :D

My solution is to use a mains timeswitch to power cycle my STB in the middle of the night. Works a treat. The switches are only a couple of quid at Asda.

Great idea, why didn't I think of that?
