Snooty

Whatever next? ;)

Mrs Allinson-Cooke, who wants the van moved from outside her shop to an out-of-town car park, claimed that photographic "evidence" suggested 90% of people using it lived in local authority housing.

Other users, she claimed, were contractors and labourers, who wore bright fluorescent jackets.
:D

I bet she gets a few "visits " now - what a stupid thing to say.

I think that we should organise a trip up there, all dressed like builders and other "undesirables" ;)

I just think that it's funny that people have that attitude. :)

There must be a demand for it. I seriously doubt that the "high-class" cafes there, cater for the workmen there. :)

What a snob, I may have had sympathy with her regarding having a fish and chip van outside her shop, but saying †œphotographic "evidence" suggested 90% of people using it lived in local authority housing.ââ‚ ‚¬Ã‚ Just proves sheââ‚ ¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢s a snob and needs to move her business to a town that has stricter control on street traders if she does not want a chip van outside.

Ah, yes, Frinton where ice cream vans and other undesirable trades are banned. Which reminds me of the that old chestnut; underneath the road sign saying "Harwich for the Continent" someone has scrawled "Frinton for the incontinent".

Thats right :D
Though the Frintonites have been forced to allow a pub and I believe a chip van to operate inside the gates :disturbd:

My mother in law is %100 exactly like Mrs Bucket. The similarity is scary sometimes. Even Buxom Woman agrees with me.

I'd agree that Corbridge is a very attractive little town. The annual Northumberland County Fair is held there and is well worth a visit if you're ever in that part of the world at the right time. But not if it's pouring down; you'll spend all your time up to your eyeballs in mud!

I'm not sure if Corbridge comes under Hexham (another town worth a visit) for its parliamentary constituency, but Hexham was (probably still is) a Tory island in a Labour sea. Geoffrey Rippon used to be the MP.
