New "almost full" BBCi on Telewest
Not NTL strictly speaking, but I'm sure the NTL subs will be interested in it.
The BBC have changed all the Bridges used on Telewest to a new (and very good looking) style. Gone are particular colours for particular channels -- everything (except the kids channels) is grey and red. Also, the Bridge now works on BBC Parliament, which means it's active on all BBC TV channels now. In addition, they've sort-of launched a full service. Sort of because it's exactly the same Walled Garden content, but presented with a BBC bar at the top rather than one with Telewest adverts. The Help text says that the content will be reorganised soon, so we'll have to see what happens there. All in all it's a good thing, although the old Bridge did give slightly more info. Oh, and 10 O'Clock News Interactive wasn't there today, but hopefully that's a one-off. Anyway, screenshots are available here: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds19767.html Let the "when is this coming to NTL" begin... EDIT: Interestingly, the new-style Bridges are very different to the ones currently on Sky and Freeview. Could this be cable getting something first for a change? |
Re: New "almost full" BBCi on Telewest
:tu: Very nice set of designs for the bridges - brings them up to date and keps information displayed concise. Doubt if we'll get them in the next few weeks - unless it is done as part of the Bromley software overhaul later in the year. One other thing, would ntl like the thought of giving up that advertising space in the "ntl bar" at the top of the walled garden screens?
It does annoy though, seeing that TW, using the same software as CR3, can run the full multiscreen service on N24, yet ntl'ers are still waiting....:( |
