Deceased Persons Bill

Right I am not sure on where to start with this.

My Farther died on the 10/4/03 and was a NTL customer.
During sorting the eastate I sent letters to NTL Manchester which included copies of the death certificate and letters from probate.

In the letter I asked them to send me the total of any outstanding amounts on this account.

I also contacted CS and told them that I had done this and I am awaiting to be contacted.

After doing this bills for the account stopped being sent to my late fathers address but still not contact was made to myself regarding any outstanding amounts.

My late fathers house was sold (just over a year ago) and still no letters sent to my address or my late fathers address regarding the account?

That is until I was contacted by the new owners (step son) of the house who have received a letter from NTL stating they are now taking my late Father to court for non-payment of the account.

I am just waiting on the letter being forwarded to my address so that I can see the dates that the letter was sent.

Is it possible for someone to look into this for me has I personally have not been contacted until this letter arrived at my late Fathers address. I have no idea if other letters have arrived at the property only the one that was mentioned.

The estate was finualised when the sale of the house went through but I did keep back the finual amount that was on my Fathers last telephone bill whilst waiting for NTL to contact me.

Just to make things more clear
I have sent copies of the death certificates to Manchester along with letters from probate.
I sent a letter stating that I was the administrator of the estate and provided my full contact details including telephone number.
I did contact CS by telephone in relation to confirming that I sent all information relating to my Fathers death.
I have not been contacted in person neither has there been any letters (has far has I am aware) other then the one stating that NTL are going to take my late Father to court for non-payment of the account.

On a similar subject, how do get such a person's name removed from the online directory enquiries? BT (who run the service) say information has to be corrected by NTL. The name in the directory wasn't even the main NTL account holder (but was the owner before number ported from BT). I've emailed ntl CS a million times and complained to OFTEL (who referred me back to NTL complaints procedure) but can't get a squeak of a reply out of NTL.

Really?

We've always had fairly quick replies from him (from memory)

I guess you are referring to the fact that he hasn't replied to you?

That's still lame IMO. :td:

Alan's great, but sadly isn't a regional MD anymore.

Fair comment, it is only personal experience I speak from. He's ignored the mails I have sent him in the past.
