Gallery to webspace !

Hi all

I have a home page with a link to another page 'photos'.............. on this page I would like various links linking to different photo galleries which I have set up.

Can I create a sperate folders on my web space which contains each gallery....?

Each gallery/folder contains files ***.jppeg and the same file ***.html which I guess are the tumbnails and picture.

Do I link the link of the page to the index.html within the folder ???

You could create links to each group of photos and then within the page that loads display the photos for that group. The extensions .html and .jpeg are two different things, the .jpegs are your images and the .html files are probably the hyperlinks to them. I would tell you to have a look at chims site as I have 3 seperate photo gallery links there to see whether that is the sort of thing you are after but it looks like the NTLworld webspace is down again :(

in your html page you can have the thumbnails and link them to the actual picture.

<a href="good_images/1.jpg"><img src="good_images/1thumb.jpg"></a>

this will have a clickable image that will show the thumbnail 1thumb.jpg and when clicked take you to the image 1.jpg in hte folder good_images on your websapce.

Maybe we should start from the beginning to clarify what you want? Do you want a set of pages with thumbnails that you click to take you to a larger version of the photo?

my club website with thumbnails you can click on that takes you to the actual pictures

have a folder called images and put all your images into this folder
then you can make up a page like this

</tr> //end table row tou can have a s many as you like

this is a basic way of doing it

EDIT: you can get a free program called easy thumbnail creator from http://www.fookes.com/it is a great wee program, you can make your pic any size of thumbnail you want for your table. it does not destroy your original it just copies but makes it the size you want, and adds tn_ to the start of your image.

OK understand but when I have 60 pictures do I link it to the index files within the folder full of these pictures !

So you want a main gallery page that then has links to the individual galleries on it?? It does make sense and hopefully Ikth will help you along with it as it isn't as hard as you think ;) Keep going Mike, you'll get there, we all learn as we go along :tu:
