NTL Newsgroups have gone

Hello :)

I cannot connect to the normal newsgroups (news.ntlworld.com) using Mozilla Thunderbird. I have had no problem from this setup up until last week. When I try to connect a message is returned "connection refused". :td:

Firstly does anyone know why this happening, and secondly are there other free newsgroups I can try instead of NTL.

Thanks for reading

KEFTY

There's a thread about it somewhere on here. Apparently there's been a hardware problem with the news servers that they're working on, and it will be a few days before they're back up due to the high amount of data they carry. :)

*edit*
Just found the other thread, here. :)

Hi kefty

bubbanews still do a free account, but there is a cap on how much you can d'load (50 MB per day IIRC - which includes headers).
