Unable to Connect to the Message Store.
I can retrieve my NTL email OK via POP3, but if I try logging on to webmail at http://www.ntlworld.com/webmail/index.php (with the same userid/password that works fine for POP3) I get to a page with an error message that begins with the text "Unable to Connect to the Message Store." before the first html tag. This only happens with one of my email addresses, though.
Has anyone seen this problem before, and more generally what is the best email address at NTL to report faults like these to... it is never very clear to me when I look at their website. Thanks. |
Re: Unable to Connect to the Message Store.
has this been happening intermittently? or does it happen every time that you attempt to use it?
have you tried now? and does it do the same thing? the unable to connect to the message store usually points to there being a problem with one of the mail storage servers either it is extremely busy or on the way down and you can receive messages ok via pop3 even when it still tells you of this message? |
Re: Unable to Connect to the Message Store.
This has happened every time I have tried it over the last few days... and it is still doing it (as of a minute or two ago). I hadn't used webmail for quite a time before then, and I only tried it to try to see if I could see some email that was never received via pop3 - I have since heard that the sender had received a bounced email error from their ISP with the text: "Your message was not delivered because the destination computer was not reachable within the allowed queue period. [...] The queue containing messages destined for ntlworld.com was expired by the Postmaster" (I don't know whether this is related).
Yes, I can confirm that pop3 still receives email while this error is displayed when logging on to webmail. |
