Email Question
Hi there,
If I move away from ntlworld dial-up to a BT based ADSL connection how long before my email account would be deleted? If I simply "downgraded" to PAYG dial-up would that make a difference? Can ntl PAYG dial-up be used via a BT line so that I could dial in every now and then just to keep my email address active? I thank all of you for your help. Steve |

Re: Email Question
I last connected to my PAYG dial up email addy by a PAYG connection, a couple of years ago. Since then I've still been using it, and connecting via ntl broadband.
It may be that if you don't connect from within ntl network space it would die, but probably it would take a few months. Plenty of time for you to have switched over and got any essential emails redirected. |

Re: Email Question
Hi Steve,
The ability to configure your ntlworld.com email address to forward email to another address (http://selfcare.ntlworld.com/cgi-bin/frontend) may be of interest to you while you swap email addresses over. This would then atleast save you having to check two accounts :) As for how long it will stay active, the NTL User Policy states (see section 9), Quote:

Re: Email Question
Thanks for all your help!
As far as I can tell, if I "downgrade" to PAYG access my email account will remain active for 90days which is plenty of time to inform people of my change of email account. I might even pay a monthly subscrition for an extra month just to ensure it does work okay. In the meantime I'll forward my email as suggested to my new isp account. Cheers |
