Middle light on STB
 

Hi all

Had a complete outage (internet & tv) yesterday evening in leeds area, fairly sure it was a service issue as others affected as well. came back on within 2 hours but now the middle light is either flashing or off. (pace 1000 stb - middle light normally ON). tv service seems to be working havent tried internet yet. does anyone know the significance of the middle light and if there is any ongoing work in leeds today (there was some scheduled earlier on in the week but there didnt seem to be any problems then). yes there was a major outage off the leeds headend last night
the issue was resolved about 2 hours after i believe and all should be well now

the middle light should be solid at all times
i believe the light is the MCNS light and this shows that the interactive and broadband service is up and running

edit: just checked service status page and it has been updated this morning as still being a problem

I gather it was a major power failure that affected all of the north Leeds - Harrogate area

Yep, I lost my return path for a couple of hours last night, but all was well by this morning - well done techs!

this middle light.....in order to get broadband and interactive services this middle light should always be solid, this is your return path and should always be solid . If not then apart from infrequent area faults the engineer who fitted the box has not checked levels correctly at the house on installation.... if these level readings are out by as little as 3db then all services will not run at there best. Take it from me...engineers dont bother with these things as there on price work and are more concernsed about getting to next job....SHAME REALLY

Get your facts correct. Not all engineers are on price work and thats a solid fact. Engineers in the areas i work do check levels on every call and adjust if they require it. It realy gets my backup when statments like this are made and no proof is put forward to back it up .:mad:

certainly not my experience ..
