DNS problem at ntl?
I'm not a regular poster here (shame on me!), so forgive me if this has already come up. I have uploaded my business website to another ISP, but can't view it via my ntl broadband connection. I suspect the ntl proxy server has not updated - the old "parking" page still shows, not the new index.html. I can't find anything at www.ntlworld.com to explain this - but I have had DNS errors relating to my new domain before. The new ISP says this is a known problem at ntl. Any ideas?

Re: DNS problem at ntl?
it can take up to 48 hours for the domain to propagate through to DNS after you have pointed your hosts nameservers to the domain.
This is not an NTL issue, afaik - any issues with websites not resolving is more often to do with the transparent proxy servers, than DNS. Did your host not give you an IP address to use until the domain has propagated? |
Re: DNS problem at ntl?
how about showing us the address to see if we can see it :)

something wrong if it has taken nearly a month to sort it :erm: , is there any reason you cannot supply the address for us to have a peek at  :) |
Re: DNS problem at ntl?
is it working on non ntl connections ok?
a bit more information such as the website would be helpful to see what is going on :) |

Re: DNS problem at ntl?
I can see your site fine here on my NTL 750K connection, came up very quick indeed.
Have you tried changing your proxy settings? See this page for info on how to change your proxy: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d...trancache.html |

Re: DNS problem at ntl?

I agree it should have propagated to all DNS by now ;) - otherwise keep trying the 'proxy shuffle' - good luck :) |
Re: DNS problem at ntl?
Thanks guys - I have hard refreshed the browser and all is well. A very odd problem (at least in my experience).

Re: DNS problem at ntl?
it could have been the temporary internet files on the computer
or it could have been the ntl cache servers atleast all is well now :D |
