Inconsistent connection
Wierd problems here - some websites load just fine and dandy, others won't respond at all. Pinging the addresses had exactly the same results for the same sites as actually trying to open them with the browser. Either just fine, or absolutely nothing.
bbc.co.uk - fine (my homepage, and no, not loading from cache) sky.com - nope all ntl sites - nope nthw.co.uk - nope one or two others tried and fine. All is back to normal as of 5 minutes ago. But does anyone know what can cause a connection to suddenly get selective like this? |
your not the only one same here ntlworld can not get it
|
ntlworld loads here, but after a considerable delay.
Sky.com seems ok. This site "died" on me earlier, right in the middle of replying to a thread. Seems ok now? |
Site 'died' on me as well, and im on adsl.

I've got the problem as well, it appears that the Warrington and Macclesfield problem on the server status page is a little more widespread than just those two places.
I can work around it and get all sites working again by setting an explicit proxy. give it a try you never know. |
Looks like the good ol' NTL proxy shuffle again peeps. Lets face it, would be weird to go a week without something like this.
Is there any maintenance ongoing that might involved? |
I'm still having problems in the nw, bloody ntl
is there any sign of this being fixed in the near future? |
check my post on how to combat the problem

it's the only way I could onto this site to post. what really p's me off is the fact I pay ntl a small fortune each month and still have to sort out my own connection problems, when it's their job to keep the service working. when you ring them to tell them they have a problem (which I also have to pay for, cheeky buggers) the daft bast**** sit there and say no sir there are no issues in your area. god alone knows how ntl stay in business  |
