Web space traffic
Hello all, could some one point me in the right direction has to what are the limits on the 55 meg webspace has in regards to traffic.
Reason for asking I am planning to put up a internet communications receiver which will be passworded of course. Now has far as I am aware the traffic will be created by the audio feed to someone controlling the receiver at any given time. So the top and bottom of it is what are the allowed up and download limits for the webspace per any given time. thanks |
Re: Web space traffic
ntl webspace doesn't need bandwidth limits coz you cannot use server side extensions and all content is easily cacheable by others (so cacheable it is difficult to get updates to propagate). You can only upload via ftp from an ntl user IP address etc. So doubt you could use as you intend!

Re: Web space traffic
It is still possible but I would like to know before hand if I am going to be warned about too much traffic.

Re: Web space traffic
If it's a controlled reciever, it won't be webspace traffic, it'll be upload traffic, which they don't like.
If the audio is, say 32kbit/s MP3, then it would be 14Mb per hour - since it seems they get shirty about 300Mb or more, that rate would be sustainable at somewhat less than 100% usage, though it would blast past the "upgraded" lower tier limit of 5Gb/month. If 100% usage is a possibility, keeping it down to 24k bit/s would be safer. |
Re: Web space traffic
Thanks for the reply, I will be keeping the audio quality low but not too low, I will give it a try in the next couple of months and see what happens.
