Newer Web Pages Not Displayed
I update my site(see sig) daily from Mon-Fri, its hosted by i-web. This week I seem to have hit a problem.
Although I've updated the site every day this week the site appears on the web to have 'stuck' at last Tuesday. If you look at the site you can see the last date it was changed on the home page. I've tried accessing the site from two different locations and from different pc's and it still shows Mondays page. Accessing the site via ftp it shows that the correct files are all there, by that I mean all the files have the correct date 12/1, 13/1, etc. Indeed opening the page directly from I-webs control panel the correct page is displayed. Is it just an NTL problem as I'm using the freedom service to dial up or this a widespread problem. I don't currently have access to any other ISP's to check the problem exists. I have tried clearing by browser cache etc so I know the problem is not at my end. Thanks in advance Mark |
Re: Newer Web Pages Not Displayed
11th is last update shown here (NTL BB).

Re: Newer Web Pages Not Displayed
Where is the site getting the dates from? Are they determined dynamically or do you need to input them somewhere / change something?

Re: Newer Web Pages Not Displayed
Tried with Ntl BB and get the 11th. Flushed DNS and History and tried via my Zen dial up account and still get the 11th.

Re: Newer Web Pages Not Displayed
The pages are all updated manually this includes the date. Its not updated in real time.
Normally when I upload a new page you can see it straight away, I've never had this limbo problem in three years of running the site. |

Re: Newer Web Pages Not Displayed
The site appears to be serving up those dates, i have tried it from two of my servers that have direct http access. No proxies involved.

Re: Newer Web Pages Not Displayed
Just had a look at the source, those appear to be coded into the page layout.
Are you sure that you've made the changes that you need to properly? I'm taking it that you've uploaded a new version of the index page that has the new dates on it? Or, if the dates are being updated dynamically by some other element then are you sure that you've set this up correctly? |

- it does look like the update didn't occur properly, what are the file dates in the /public_html folder showing as, on the server? |
Re: Newer Web Pages Not Displayed
I have now found the problem, the files all got uploaded to the wrong folder. Many thanks to all those who helped.
