Google Gmail Bug Reported

Google has fixed a hole in its Gmail application that made messages vulnerable to interception. Though the company solved the problem within 24 hours, the developers who discovered it are still grumbling about the lack of a straight line of communication with a Google security team.

Hopefully they'll put some contact details of a security contact when GMail does finally go live (don't forget it's still in beta stage), but you do have to admit that fixing the bug in 14 hours is pretty darn impressive. I'd like to see other software companies (including where I work ;) ) be able to reach this sort of level.

Yes, agreed it was fast, but as the link says, there was no notification to users as and when they found the bug .... that's a bit :erm: off
