XP Themes

Hi Guys,

Can anybody suggest any good sites for free XP themes etc?

I'd also like to be able to get rid of a picture that comes up before the login screen and (if possible) change the background of the login screen. Any thoughts on these two would also be gratefully received.

Cheers,

Raist.

I use DesktopX and tried some of the Bootskins from Wincustomize.
Some work fine, but one or two lock up my Sony Vaio Type K laptop and need a Safe Mode restart.
Still, the ones that work are better than the default boot screen !

Why not go the whole wack... and redesign and use your own custom built login.. thats wot i've gone and done... i recomend FrontMotion if you wanna change your login screens... there are many pre-built designs to choose form if you're no good with flash... I personally just editted a pre-built one myself, my Flash skills aren't that good hehe... also using flash for the logins etc, isn't as much as a memory hog as ya might think... it's all 100% free software, so another reason to give it ago...

Do you use the classic press ctrl-alt-delete logon?

If so you can change the wallpaper by going into the registry to HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop and changing the "wallpaper" value.

I saw that one, don't they wrap some sort of advertising / data mining software in with the downloads though?

Yeah on some of there downloads, also they have annoying Gain adverts which slow you doing any searching on the site. I have stopped using it because of that problem.

No, you need to use Macromedia Flash to edit .fla's, you can however create SWF's using various programs, such as Swish (http://www.swishzone.com)
