Cak Callback Attempt/faliure
Had a look on the event log of my STB by pressing Page Up Page Down a Blue, I seem to be getting this error. Does this mean anything to anyone, if so is it a problem?
Just wondering becuase my STB has just been replace due a fault, and there seems to be a whole lot of these. Cheers. |
Re: Cak Callback Attempt/faliure
Could be a return path issue... Are your TV Guide and Interactive services (by which I mean the interactive menu rather than any eTV applications) working OK?

The event log is a bit more verbose on these than on Pace boxes. CAK queue full/callback attempted is nothing to worry about. |

Hehe, I would, but I've got to spread the love a bit first!

Re: Cak Callback Attempt/faliure
It is a Samsung box :)
Interactive works ok, but it wont let me order Front Row Movies. Also the software says it was last updated in August 04 from what I can gather from the version number given there should be a few updates. Is this deffo not a problem? It seems to be doing it quite a lot? Cheers |
Re: Cak Callback Attempt/faliure
Does it give any error messages when you try and order a Front Row film?
What version number have you got? |
Re: Cak Callback Attempt/faliure
When ordering a Front Row Movie it gives the Error E003 and says call customer services.
It also says something about AGC% Status being 71 SNR estimate is 38.8dB Up Power is 46dBmV Down is 31.2 Version 3_1_1_P2N_N_S2100 Loader 1.05 (26 Feb 2004) Download listed for Aug 2004 |

Re: Cak Callback Attempt/faliure
Just rang them and Front Row now works properley.
Its still doing quite a few of these CAK Callbacks however. They dont seem to be causing any problems with anything for now. I was just a little worried I might not receive any of the upcoming updates if the box is not contacting something properley, but we shall wait and see! :D |
Re: Cak Callback Attempt/faliure
Keep an eye on your credit limit in the info there - it goes down each time you order a movie, and if it doesn't go back up to £30 periodically, you might have a return path problem - though it sounds like it should be sorted for now!

Re: Cak Callback Attempt/faliure
I will keep a check on that cheers.
I have noticed however that the credit hasnt gone back up yet as customer services asked me to order any movie to test it was working, then I wouldnt get charged for it if I didnt watch it. |
Re: Cak Callback Attempt/faliure
Also out of Interest I presume if this is a return path problem causing this Cak Callback attempts/faliures thing, that it will not be a problem with the box again but something to do with the signal.

Re: Cak Callback Attempt/faliure
If there is a return path issue (which I don't think there is at the moment!), it could be either box or cabling!
