norton firewall has blocked me out of my NTL email
 
I am not sure what to do I hadve done everything it has told me in the book.
I have uninstaled and reinstaled it twice. When is was uninstaled I could get into my email account. So I now it's the norton firewall is the problem.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE.

hi and :welcome: to the site , you should be able to manually configure access to your e-mail client by opening norton and going to your e-mail client :)

look at the little pic below :)

are you using outlook express for your email? if so, what is the error that you are getting?

Does disabling norton allow you to receive your email?

paul thanks just tried that and I have not got outlook in there can I add it????

are you using outlook as your e-mail client ??????? , if you are then when you try and run it you should get a box asking if you want to automatically etc etc etc , is that not happening ???????? :)


edit :- you should be able to add a program to norton firewall as below

Hi Monkey the error is
THE FOLDER COULD NOT BE CREATED A FOLDER NAME MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE CHARACTER
AND A OK
SO i PRESS OK AND THEN THIS ONES COMES UP

NORTON ANTISPAM NEEDS TO RESTART OUTLOOK EXPRESS TO CONTINUE.
OUTLOOK EXPRESS WILL NOW RESTART.
AND A OK

SO PRESS THAT AND NOTHING CLOSES THE SCREEN DOWN.

WHEN I AM IN EMAIL CANN'T CLICK ANYTHING ON MY TOP TAB BAR

Hi Paul did all that it worked for 5 mins and then it restarted itself and now the same thing is happening

And When Is Starts Up And I Click On Me Account Is Comes Up With These Messages In A Warning Box

!(in A Trinangle) Symantec Email Proxy
A Necessary Component For The Function Is Missing Or Damaged
(c:\programfiles\nortoninternetsecurity\norton Antivirus\navemail.dll).
With A Ok Button

So I Click Ok

And Then This One Is Next
Same As Above The Only Thing That Changes Is The End
\navemail.dll).

So Again Click Ok

I have had a lot of problems with norton myself. There are a load of instructions to go through on here:

if that dosent work then go through these instrutions to get rid of it :)http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...0&osv=&osv_lvl=

edit: id be careful before you go deleting files!! make sure you dont delete the wrong ones :)
