What type of cable do NTL give?

Is it CAT5?

I'm trying to figure out why I cannot use my home network (via a 4port switch router) cannot acheive speeds of 100Mbps for file transfers between PCs. The NICs are 10/100 and any cables I've bought myself are CAT5e which is even Gigabit compatible. So I'm wondering if what NTL gave with their package when I connected is not 100Mbps compatible.

Thanks for any help

Mixing CAT5 with CAT5e causes problems if memory serves.

When you say you aren't getting 100Mbps, is it that the transfer rates are coming up as 100Mbps or is it that when you plug your PC's in they say they're running at 10Mbps?

The CAT5 ntl give is 100Mbps compatible
