Router constantly thinking it's being flooded

I'm using a Belkin 54G Wireless ADSL router and for some reason as of late it's not letting me use certain site's (screenselect, phpmyadmin on i-web and a few others) and shows a Syn Flood attempt in the security log then blocks my access to the originating IP for 5 minutes or so. The only way I've found round this is to disable the onboard firewall, which I'd rather not do, anyone have any better ideas? I've tried updating the firmware and restoring the router to it's factory settings and I'd rather not call the planks at Belkin today, I've had enough of talking to imbeciles already today (wanadoo ...)

Re: Router constantly thinking it's being flooded

a few people on http://www.dslreports.com are reporting the same problem.. with several different possible fixes.. ranging from IE settings.. (very unlikely, as it's a router issue) .. to the router security log getting too large and causing resets. ( http://www.dslreports.com/forum/rema...lite=syn+flood )

i'm not sure if this is from an internal router config page or not:
Quote:

I changed
'Maximum incomplete TCP/UDP sessions number from same host' from the default of 10 to 30 and it appears to work OK at the moment.
may be of use though
