Complaint to Wythenshawe

Hi, is this possible?
We moved house 12/3/00 and had a replacement STB. We were using a Digital Pace Box branded NTL. At the new house we were given a Cable & Wireless box and controller.
We appear then to only get Analogue tv up to channel 200 and fairly slow broadband connexion.
I say this because a few weeks ago our stb started showing the red dot for interactive..then showed errors like trying to reboot and numbers on the display rolling around up to 4000..eventually showing faults and not displaying any channels.
The stb was replaced and we immediately saw a new world of digital tv with lots of free channels over the 200 mark up to 970 and with a superior picture.
We seem to have paid £19.50 for digital for 4 yrs and are only just receiving it.
We have been advised to complain to Wythenshawe, Manchester but have received no acknowledgement since 17/11.
Can anyone shed any light on Analogue/digital or tell us how to phone Wythenshawe? Thanks guys.

:welcome: To Cable Forum, not sure of the exact figures, however I have been on digital for over 3 years and it costs far more than £19.50 per month. If you are still getting all the digital channels for that price I would keep quite about it. ;)

Thanks for the welcome.

What I was trying to say was that I beleive for the last 4 years we have paid for Digital £19.50 per month but only received Analogue service. Is that possible?

Can you give us a list of the channels that you have, along with the relevant channel numbers please?

:welcome: to the site from me too! :)

Sounds to me like you just had a duff digital service.
The NTL analogue TV I've seen tends to go up to channel 40ish (was 31 channels when I had it), and the fact you say it was showing the red dot & you get errors when try it all suggest digital, you don't can't use the red-dot interactive at all on analogue.

Ok..seems like I had a duff box as you say..thanks.
Still I have learned from the Forum and today had a SamsungSTB installed ...I said my new STB was playing up..it was freezing from time to time..nothing major.
I will now get back to complaining about my duff box..regards all and thanks.

Ok after taking advice, using the numbers of the top brass published here I have settled my dispute and received compensation for the four years and four months I beleive NTL service has been below par.

Brilliant result and thanks to Cable Forum and its users. :)

Wow fast result as well 07/12 original post 11/12 all fixed with positive results 4 days max.

is this a sign of 'things to come' or just NTL bosses 'clearing their desks' before swanning off to their villas in some exotic clime' for their Xmas break
