Ebay Scam ?????

Hi all

I purchase an item 'buy now' yesterday (on ebay.uk.co) and asked for a total. Seller sent me the total straight away and I paid (by paypal) immediately. A few hours later I received an email from "ukrswebhelp@ebay.com" stating that the seller was no longer a registered user and that I didn't have to complete the deal. Problem was I had already done just that.

The item I brought is no longer showing within my eaby.

Where is the problem EBay? Paypal? or the SELLER !

Any ideas

The seller probably had his membership suspended for breaking Ebay's terms of service, I'd wait and see if you receive the item, if not, contact Paypal first, if you get no joy with them refunding you, contact your bank and they'll sort it out.

I find it shocking that auction sites like QXL and Ebay still have people persistently trading on them, my sister has been scammed on there several times now and yet still goes back for more, whats wrong with buying from reputable retailers/etailers?

agreed here , not fussed on ebay at all :td: , and when you see ppl buying sky+ boxes for the same price a retailer is selling them for on the high street it becomes a little weird tbh :dozey:

Well.......thanks for the support !

I have sold many items on ebay and brought a few. I find it's mainly obsure items and things I could not but in a shop. So quite rightly I am p****d off now I appeared to have been scammed. Just asking the question in case anyone has experience in a similar situation.

thanks again

Mike
